1999

The Start of the Jouyney

Where it all Began

My journey in wine and food began seriously in 1999 at the age of 29 when fate as so often in life showed his hand. Up to that time I'd been in insurance and apart from regarding food and wine as my favorite hobby I'd never contemplated it becoming a life times career. I was approached out of the blue by Ponti wine cellar from HK who had recently set up a wine distribution company in Singapore named Excalibur trading after initial training I was set to work marketing their profile to hotels, restaurants,clubs and private customers.

2002 - 2003

Building the Experience

Fueled by Interest

During my seven years with Excailbur I was further trained by the French sommeliers Sopexa during which I recd in 2002 my Sopexa certification. In 2003 I joined the Tung Lok company based at Jade Fullerton as their sommelier.

2005

First Female Sommelier

The Finalist

In 2005 I was nominated at the world gourmet summit as the first female sommelier for the Scott Swiesel sommelier of the year. I was one of three finalists and came in as runner up. Later in 2005 I joined Top Wine Pte as their sales manager tasked with building a sales team.

2009

The Twist & Turn

Life Presents Itself

In 2009 following a further period of training in Italy and France I decided the time had come to strike out alone and opened an Italian concept food and wine restaurant named In Contro on Clarke Quay which I owned until another twist of fate my British husband came along and we moved to KL. In Malaysia I've been working at the wine consultant overseeing operations at SW wines and also group wine buyer for EYS buying wine.

2022

A New Journey Begins

Welcome to Seraph Wine!

This year I was responsible for bringing the Bordeaux Rendezvous to KL for the first time. Now I feel the time has come again to create something new again a personal celebration of my twin loves. Welcome to Seraph Wine!
