Giovanni Oliva founder and managing director of Ethicawines Asia Pacific will be showcasing three intriguing boutique vinyards from three of Italys less well known but up and coming wine regions. Sella and Mosca from Sardinia ,Vespa from Puglia and Alta Mora from Sicily and as always in Soleil Chef Evert and his team will be offering a tempting selection of light food to match the wines.
Giovanni who is a FISAR certified sommelier and holds a masters from the Oenological Institute of Conegliano Veneto has gained a name for himself identifying and promoting new and exciting labels from all over Italy which are often overlooked in the rush for Tuscany.

GIOVANNI OLIVA’S PROFILE
Giovanni Oliva was born in a town not far from Venice, in the North Eastern part of Italy.
In Giovanni’s hometown wine has always played a remarkable and central role in the local culture and economy, therefore he started, already when he was still an High School student, to work as a seasonal grape harvester and helper, in some local wineries located in his native area.
In the year 2000, just before his graduation from the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Giovanni continued to cultivate his great passion for wine and obtained a Sommelier Certificate, released by the F.I.S.A.R (Italian Federation of Sommeliers, Hotel Managers and Restaurant Owners.)
In 2002 Giovanni also completed a Master in “Wine Marketing and Winery Management”, at the prestigious Oenological Institute of Conegliano Veneto, the oldest Wine School of Italy. In the same year he also started his career in the wine industry, working as an Export Manager for a famous Prosecco producer.
In 2007 he moved to Singapore, where he still lives with his family, having accepted a job as Sales & Marketing Director for Asia of Grandi Vini D’Italia: a private Consortium of family run and owned Italian Wineries.
2014 instead was the year in which Giovanni decided to found his own company: Ethicawines Asia Pacific, that represents on an exclusive base a very selected group of Premium Quality Italian Wineries. That’s the reason why Giovanni loves calling himself the “Ambassador of Fine Italian Wines to Asia”.
